I was diagnosed with Aspergers in 2012 when i was 46 years old. I was later diagnosed with ADHD. I have lead a hetic but lonely life. I have great difficulty relating to people in general and have hid myself away in disastrous relationships. For the last 7 months I have been on my own in my flat in a small town. This is the longest period of time that I have not been in a relationship. I fit the " triad of impairments" perfectly.
I have had no support for the AS and my new GP's refuse to administer Ritalin even though the consultant psychologist states clearly that I need It. I was on Ritalin for 3 years but developed Thyrotoxicosis and was taken off Ritalin until my condition settled down. I have a letter from the psychologist dated November 2016 to my new GP stating the need for me to resume taking the Ritalin but the GP and the whole surgery refuse to administer it. I am wound up about this. I have written to my MP and the Health Minister and have been told I will have a response by the end of March 2017.
